Sprint’s Sanyo Taho E4100 Phone by Kyocera

A new rugged handset has just appeared on Sprint’s fact sheet page, Sanyo Taho E4100 Phone by Kyocera. Means, it will be rolled out soon to their subscribers :)

Sanyo Taho is a clamshell handset which runs on CDMA networks (800,1900 Mhz), with support for Sprint’s 1xEV-DO rev.0 hi-speed 3G data bearer. Built based on military standard 810G, this phone withstands dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures as well as blowing rain and and water immersion.

Like the most of flip phones, Sanyo Taho comes with 2 displays. Its internal one is a 2-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) color display; and a 1-inch monochrome external display. This phone also equipped with a 2-Megapixel Camera with LED flash and video recording capability, as well as a built in GPS along with Sprint’s softwares such as Sprint Navigation and Sprint Family Locator.

Taho's media player support both audio and video files. This handset has a front-ported speaker which is used as a speaker phone as well as for music playback; and, a 2.5mm audio jack is also provided.

Comes in black ergonomically designed case covered with a non-slip Dura-Grip texture, Sanyo Taho measures 4.0×2.0×0.9 inches and weighs 4.7 oz. Its other notable features include a stereo bluetooth, microSD slot with support for up to a 32MB microSD card, microUSB port and a removable 1050 mAh Li-ion battery which can provides up to 6.1 hours of talk time within a single charge.

Currently, this new Sanyo Taho E4100 rugged phone is already available at Sprint’s online website, for a price of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, with 2-years contract agreement. It will be available in all remaining Sprint sales channels beginning Jan. 9, 2011.
