The Epic 4G is Samsung Mobile's first 4G Android-powered device. This Galaxy S smartphone is built based on Android 2.1 platform.
The handset sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display with pinch-to-zoom functionality; completing its user interface that supports a series of advanced touch screen gestures including multi-touch pinch, long tap and zoom and vertical and horizontal swiping. Plus, there is a side slide full QWERTY keyboard just in case that Epic 4G's virtual keyboard and Swype technology aren't enough yet.
In addition to the dynamic screen, Samsung Epic 4G’s six-axis motion sensing uses an accelerometer and geo-magnetic sensor to fine-tune its ability to interpret simple movements and provide an optimal gaming experience. When the phone tilts up and down or left and right, the game can immediately respond in the same direction.
A demo of Asphalt 5, a popular racing game, is preloaded exclusively on Samsung Epic 4G allowing users to take full advantage of these advanced gaming capabilities.
Inside, this 124.8 x 64.6 x 14.2 mm measured smartphone comes with the Samsung 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, paired with 1 GB ROM and 512 MB RAM. For the storage, Samsung Epic 4G feature a microSD slot with supports up to 32 GB card; a 16 GB microSD card included right out the box.
Samsung Epic 4G is a fully loaded smartphone with both 4G data speeds (WiMAX) and 3G data speeds (EVDO Rev A.) capability. Along with its built-in 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, this phone also features 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability, enabling it to connects to up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices. Users can expect that Epic 4G also comes with Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP Stereo and EDR as well as microUSB port for connectivity.
