Recently, LG Electronics has just announced the availability of their Long-Term Evolution (LTE) modem model L-02C, made for Japanese LTE networks which will be shipped via NTT DoCoMo.

Similar to the one unveiled for Verizon Wireless earlier this month, LG L-02C LTE Modem is a user friendly accessories which can be used, simply by connecting it to the USB port on PC or Notebook PC. It supports diverse operating systems including Windows7, Vista, XP, and Mac OS. The device is also quite compact at its 35mm width and 12.9 mm thickness.

The LTE modem supports up to 75 Mbps on download and up to 37.5 Mbps on upload, more than 10 times faster than 3G, LG said.

LG L-02C LTE Modem, dubbed as ‘Xi (Crossy)’, will be offered by DoCoMo starting this week in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. DoCoMo also said that they will expands their LTE networks as well this LTE modem offering to other major cities by 2012. It will be available in two color schemes; Red and Silver. No pricing yet.
