Motorola Droid X Lands on Verizon Wireless Tomorrow

One of the most awaited android smartphone, the Motorola DROID X, will be available through Verizon Wireless' stores by tomorrow.

Motorola Droid X is an Android 2.1 powered smartphone. Housed in its sleek 127.5 x 65.5 x 9.9 mm measured black case, this handset is loaded with the 1 Ghz TI OMAP3630-1000 processor, paired with 512 MB integrated RAM. The phone itself has 8 gigabyte onboard memory, and comes with a 16GB memory card occupying its microSD slot --which can be maxed with an optional 32GB ones for up to 40GB of total storage.

Droid X sports a large, 4.30 inches TFT display. It's a capacitive touchscreen, with WVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution and true color (16M) support. Enhancing users viewing and navigating experience, this display feature proximity sensor, light sensor and multi-touch functionality. Pinch to zoom and Swype input technology are present; and there are dedicated keys for volume control, camera, back, search, menu, power/lock and home.

This android smartphone's main snapper is quite nice. It comes with a 8MP autofocus camera featuring face detection, image stabilization and geo-tagging; with video capture capability at up to 720p@24fps. And a dual-LED flash for lightning. However, if you're a frequent video caller, this phone might not your type as there is no secondary/front facing camera.

Motorola Droid X runs on CDMA networks with support for CDMA2000 1xEV-DO hi-speed data bearer, at Rev. A for up to 3.1 Mbps. This android smartphone also features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0 port. In addition, there is a 3G mobile hotspot feature, allowing users to uses Droid X as a mobile hot spot for up to 5 other Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Droid X is powered with a 1540 mAh Li Ion battery that should be able to provides up to 220 hours of standby time. Its other features include HDMI port, Android HTML Webkit, aGPS (assisted), sGPS (simultaneous), eCompass, Android Media Player, 3.5 mm audio jack and an Adobe Flash Player which will be available via software update late summer 2010.

On Verizon's today official announcement, this Motorola Droid X will be available online and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores tomorrow for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
