Samsung Intercept is a fully featured smartphone which built based on Android 2.1 OS, powered with a dependable 667 MHz Samsung S3C6410 (ARM11) processor. This handset runs on dual band CDMA networks, with support for 1xEV-DO rev.0 hi-speed data connectivity.
On the display, Samsung Intercept sports a 3" TFT capacitive touchscreen with 240 x 400 pixels resolution, supporting 16.7 million (24-bit) colors. Completing its touch module, this handset also features a side slider full QWERTY keyboard and several important dedicated buttons for the ease of input and navigation.
Just like most of Android-based advanced smartphone, Samsung Intercept also provides access to popular Google mobile services, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube, and more than 50,000 applications available in Android Market today. And of course, an HTML android webkit for browsing is available. In addition, this handset also comes preloaded with an online services support such as Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.
On the multimedia, Samsung Intercept comes with 3.2 Megapixel camera and video camcorder. Player for audio and video is present, and it have a microSD slot with support for up to 32GB card --a 2GB card is included. Intercept also offer a good range of connectivity option with WiFi, Bluetooth v2.1, micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack. All of these features are housed inside 113 x 56 x 15.2 mm measured nice case and weighs 139 grams.
In their official press release, it is said that customers can purchase Samsung Intercept starting July 11 through all Sprint channels, in which retail pricing will be just $99.99 (excluding taxes) after a $100 mail-in-rebate with a two-year service agreement. Available color option are Gray Steel and Satin Pink.
