The unlocked version of Dell's 5-inch tablet, will be shipped in the US as soon as next month, as showcased in their official site. The better news is that the Carbon Black 16GB Dell Streak, is offered at $180 cheaper if purchased unlocked. This Android device, which sports a regular price tag of $579.99, will be going for only $399.99.
For those who might have not encountered the Dell Streak before, this tablet is first released at June, this year. Back then, it was shipped with Android 1.6 on board. By this moment, it is upgradable to Froyo, Android 2.2 :)
Dell Streak, which also known as Dell Mini 5, sports a 5" touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass, 480×800 pixels resolution. The table came with support for 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) connectivity and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP as well as a built in GPS with A-GPS support. In terms of tech specs, Dell Streak is equipped with 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 512 MB ROM, and 512 MB of installed RAM, while the standard included battery is 1530 mAh li-ion.
This tablet is available in three color schemes; Black, Red, white. And it is offered in two models; 16GB and 32GB. Currently, Dell Streak is available for purchase in the US via AT&T, priced at $199.99 on 2-year contract.
