Today, AT&T has just made it official through their official PR that the BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone will be available exclusively for their customers on August 12 in their retail stores, including AT&T online store, as well as Best Buy, Wal-Mart and RadioShack stores.
As a quickie reminder, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 sports a 3.2" capacitive touch screen display with 360×480 pixels resolution, 5 MPx autofocus camera with LED flash, a slide out 35-key full QWERTY keypad and an optical trackpad. Torch is built with BlackBerry 6 OS, powered by a 624MHz processor paired with 512 MB Flash memory. There is a 4 GB built-in memory for storage and a microSD slot is also present, with support for up to 32GB card. 4 gigs card is included.
BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a quad-band EDGE and Tri-band HSDPA (3G) phone. Physically measures 4.4×2.4×.57 inches when it closed; and it weighs only 5.68 ounces. This smartphone notable features include a built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, Multimedia player, BlackBerry browser and 3.5mm stereo headset jack. It come standard with a rechargeable 1300 mAh battery that can last up to 5.8 hours of talk time on 3G networks or 30 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback within a single charge.
As usual, contract required to get this AT&T’s exclusive smartphone. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be available for $199.99 with 2-year service agreement. AT&T has two monthly data plan options for new costumers, $15 for 200 MB of wireless data or $25 for 2 GB. For enterprise and small business customers, AT&T suggests them to "contact their account representative for pricing details". That's all folks.
