Redesigned in a sleeker smaller housing and lighter weight as well, this 3rd Gen Kindle is equipped the same 6-inch-size reading area, with a new electronic-ink screen, which claimed to provides up to 50 percent better contrast than any other e-reader. This new Kindle also offers several enhancements such as 20 percent faster page turns, up to one month of battery life, double the storage to 3,500 books, built-in Wi-Fi and a graphite color option.

In addition, Amazon also introduced a new members of its portable reading devices family, the Kindle Wi-Fi. This eReader is basically an All-New Kindle, sans 3G wireless capability. Both the all-new Kindle and Kindle Wi-Fi are available for pre-order at Amazon starting today, priced at $189 and $139 respectively. Its shipment will be started at August 27.
