LG Optimus 2X World’s First Dual-Core Smartphone Unveiled

Previously rumored as LG Star, the high-performance Tegra 2 processor powered LG Optimus 2X has just become official.

Dubbed as the world’s first dual-core smartphone, LG Optimus 2X is built with NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor which runs at a clock speed of 1GHz. This smartphone will initially be shipped with Android 2.2 (Froyo), with an option to upgrade it to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) later.

In collaboration with LG Mobile Phones, today MetroPCS announced the latest addition on its smartphone portfolio, the new LG Optimus M™.

LG Optimus M, which also known as LG MS690, is the first Android smartphone offered by MetroPCS. This candybar phone sports a 3.2" capacitive touchscreen display with 320×480 pixels resolution and accelerometer for auto-rotate as well as a 3.2 megapixels autofocus camera with video recording and LED flash. It runs on MetroPCS' CDMA networks and offer support for 1xEV-DO rev.0 hi-speed data bearer.

LG Launches Windows 7 Smartphones: LG Optimus 7 and LG Optimus 7Q

LG has announced the global launch of their two new smartphones built based on Microsoft’s new operating system today; LG Optimus 7 and LG Optimus 7Q. Both of them are a Windows Phone 7 devices.

These Optimus 7 series handsets comes with WVGA display at 800x480 pixels resolution which large enough for convenient web surfing. The LG Optimus 7 has a 3.8 inches display; while the Optimus 7Q has a smaller display, 3.5 inches, but offer a side slide ergonomic QWERTY keypad which just perfect for the built in Windows Phone 7 Office.

LG Optimus Z (LG-SU950/KU9500) Launched in Korea

One of the LG’s Optimus Series latest handset, the LG Optimus Z (LG-SU950/KU9500) smartphone is launched in Korea today. Following the Optimus One and Optimus Chic unveiled before, Optimus Z is the third device in LG’s Optimus Series family to be introduced globally.

Optimus Z, runs on quad-band GSM with support for 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. This smartphone which measures 117.9 x 56.9 x 11 mm and weighs 135 gram, comes in matte-finish metal which gives this device a solid and durable feel.

On the display, the Optimus Z comes with a 3.5 inch WVGA “Hyper” HD LCD, with a native resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and capacitive touchscreen capability.

The upcoming LG Optimus series has officially unveiled by LG today, consisting at least two new sophisticated handsets; LG Optimus One and LG Optimus Chic smatphone.

We use the "at least" words because at their official statement, LG said that they will be introducing approximately 10 new smart devices worldwide in the second half of this year under the LG Optimus label. Definitely more than two, right? The two android-powered smartphones mentioned before, LG Optimus One with Google and LG Optimus Chic, both incorporate the speedy Android Platform 2.2 (Froyo) as their OS.
