T-Mobile UK’s HTC Wildfire Froyo Update Deployed

Following Vodafone, T-Mobile UK has just announced the release of the new Android 2.2 Froyo software update for their subscribers who have the HTC Wildfire smartphones. This announcement was made on their help and support forum, under "2.2 Update for the HTC Wildfire" thread by Sorcha, T-Mobile forum team.

The Froyo update can be installed as soon as T-Mobile UK’s HTC Wildfire owners receive a notification on the availability of the new software solution in their handset.

As you will have seen HTC have announced that Android 2.2 will begin rolling out for the HTC Wildfire this week. We are pleased to confirm that customers with T-Mobile branded handsets will be receiving this update at the same time. As with all HTC updates this will be a phased release over the coming weeks and you will receive an alert on your handset when it is ready to update.

This update will offer a nice enhancements on T-Mobile UK’s subscribers’ HTC Wildfire OS functionalities such as support for USB tethering, possibility of installing applications to SD card, native support for Activesync Exchange (email, contacts and calendar sync) and security policies and WiFi Hotspot tethering.
