The HP webOS 2.0-running smartphone Palm Pre 2, which was launched several weeks ago on the European market, is now available for Canadian via Rogers.
Palm Pre 2 sports a 3.1-inch multitouch screen with a vibrant 24-bit color, 320×480 resolution HVGA display; and equipped with a slide-out physical full QWERTY keyboard. This Rogers’ new smartphone has the same connectivity options as the unlocked version currently sold in the US, it has support for Dual-band UMTS/HSDPA (850/1900 MHz) and Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz).
Comes in an elegant black scheme, Palm Pre 2 features a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, built in GPS, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth capabilities. This 59.6×100.7×16.9 mm measured smartphone also packs 16GB internal memory, USB mass storage support, multimedia player along with a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and HTML browser.
Rogers, which is now the first carrier to have the Palm Pre 2 on the North American continent, is currently offering this smartphone as low as $99.99 on 3-year contract. The carrier also sold Palm Pre 2 without any contract required, however, the price goes up at $449.99.
