Gigabyte is preparing their second Android-based smartphone, GigaByte Gsmart Rola, which is scheduled for an early 2011 release.
This Android 2.2 (Froyo) running smartphone's core is equipped with the 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor, 256 MB installed RAM and 512 MB of ROM. Highlighted at front, Gsmart Rola features a 3.2-inch TFT resistive WQVGA touchscreen display with 16 million colors, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
GigaByte Gsmart Rola is a dual SIM smartphone, both runs on quad-band GSM networks. It is stated that this smartphone supports HSDPA technology, though, there is words regarding whether it will be available on both SIM cards or not. In addition, this handset support both GPRS and EDGE class 10.
When it's come to connectivity, GigaByte Gsmart Rola has most of the important things covered. Along with the already mentioned quad-band GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G with HSDPA support, this smartphone also feature a built in GPS with aGPS support and digital compass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP.
Other highlights of the spec-wise Gsmart Rola include: 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, media player, FM radio, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), 3.5 mm audio jack, microUSB 2.0 port, Java support and HTML browser.
Gigabyte GSmart Rola, which physically measures 113.5×60×13.3 mm, will launch in Q1 2011 in selected regions for around 175 euro. It will be available in two models; Glossy Black and Glossy White.
