HTC Desire Added Into U.S. Cellular Lineup

U.S. Cellular has just expand their android smartphone lineup with the addition of HTC Desire in their shelves. HTC Desire, which is the second of five Android-powered phones planned to be offered for their subscribers, will be launched in August 27.

As a quickie overview, HTC Desire is an Android 2.1 (Eclair) running smartphone, powered with the 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which offers a true mobile computing experience. The allure of HTC Desire is apparent at first glance, with its slim, stylish design and vibrant 3.7-inch touchscreen that shows streaming video and graphics in vivid detail.

HTC Desire is preloaded with U.S. Cellular applications such as My Contacts Backup, City ID, Tone Room Deluxe and Your Navigator Deluxe. Customers can also easily access Google services like Gmail, Google Maps and Google Talk instant messaging, and synch their Google calendars and contacts.

HTC Desire is a dual band CDMA/EVDO (800/1900 MHz) phone. This android smartphone highlighted features include a 5 megapixels autofocus camera with flash, built in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, microSD slot, multimedia player, FM radio, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and microUSB port. Its standard included battery is 1400 mAh rechargeable li-ion, capable to provides up to 5 hours of talk time or up to 10.5 days of standby time within a single charge.

According to U.S. Cellular, HTC Desire, one of five Android-powered phones that the company is introducing this year, will be available in stores and at uscellular.com just weeks after U.S. Cellular customers welcomed the Samsung Acclaim.

In addition, the company also said that the Samsung Galaxy S will join the smartphone lineup in October, with two LG Android-powered phones following closely behind.
